Hello readers Chef Abdul Malik here with Great joy we bring you today the work of Omar Mussa, native of the island of Zanzibar in Tanzania from a Swahili and Bantu family, his Passion for gastronomy dates back to his childhood where he learned to cook from his mother, grandmother and aunts.

living in Buenos Aires for ten years with the mission of showing his culture and origins through gastronomy, music and arts, he created in his own home a special place called the Afrika Sana with a unique concept of comfort and private dining experiences where his guests lives a true immersion in Swahili cuisine and east africa culture

He also call his home the swahili house in buenos aires this unique experiencie is like travel to Tanzania or Kenya is like travel across Nairobi,Dal el Salam,Mombasa and Zanzíbar through the flavors of this unique cuisine.

He has worked in several areas of the gastronomic sector in the tourist paradise that is his homeland, the island of Zanzibar, and despite all his experience in the area he calls himself a cook, not a chef, because in his opinion the act of cooking with excellence and attention to details is a domestic and ancestral task passed down from generation to generation in African cultures.

The Afrika Sana menu brings the freshness of the island and the strength of Bantu cuisine, and includes classics of Tanzania cuisine such as the beloved ugali, a type of white corn polenta that is eaten throughout Tanzani in the tribes, on the islands or in the cities, and you can't miss the famous maharagwe, a type of bean stew, and all the freshness of the seafood so popular on the Island, the Zanzíbar cuisine has a very interesting mix of seasonings, such as Zanzibar curry and the use of coconut milk in dishes, bringing the freshness and flavour just commenting on it makes me hungry, and knowing that we have such a special place with this unique cuisine so close makes us reflect on how many gastronomic wonders our African people created and maintain and still so undervalued in the global gastronomic market.
